About Me
My name is Steve Taylor. I live in Melbourne, Australia and work in the land surveying industry. I do a lot of AutoCAD drafting and look after the office's computer systems, but I do also get out in the field every now and again for the odd measure-up. I have interests in cars and computers, which are what most of my posts tend to be about. In recent times I have become somewhat of an open-source software convert. When I built up a new PC I didn't bother installing Windows, instead going for a Linux operating system. To tell you the truth, I haven't missed windows. I still use it at work, so I have to keep up some knowledge.
My wife and I are both into photography. Still in the beginning stage, mind you, but digital photography has enabled us to be a lot more generous in the number shots we take. Where with a film camera we were conscious of the cost of film processing, and therefore took fewer photos, we can now snap away with abandon to find that elusive great shot. Have a look at my Flickr page for some of our work.
Bort? Huh?
Just a name I signed up to some online forums with, just picked at random from a Simpsons episode (The Itchy and Scratchy Land one, in case you are interested).
